Hey spring… Where are you?

This winter has been one of the longest, hardest ones many people have ever known. While it’s cute to snuggle up with some hot chocolate and a book an watch the snow, the cold and miserable days winter brings get old really fast.
So I am always on the lookout for signs of spring and my best indicator is when my hens start laying again. And guess what everyone….

adventures in the snow! ❄️❄️❄️

This winter has been a very cold and wet one. While you may complain (because who doesn’t want summer?) it is important that winter acts as winter should. If it doesn’t do its job, then the bug problems and tick infestations will be horrendous come summer (no one wants that) and the water reserves will dry up leading to brown grass an parched earth. So actually this winter is just what we need.
Anyways, the chickens find it amusing too… Below are some photos of them frolicking about.

I guess snow at Christmas time can bring out the poet in anyone.

Anyways it was the perfect morning for snuggle time, whether in the straw bales or gypsy wagon. Or by the fire drinking tea and making cookies.
